Our Mission Statement
DrinkingAndDriving.Org saves lives by preventing drunk driving. We are citizens whose actions are based on core values of commitment to public safety, respect for the law, and responsibility. Founded on the fundamental belief that education is our most powerful tool, the mission of DrinkingAndDriving.org is to teach and inspire drunk driving prevention.
About Us
DrinkingAndDriving.Org is teaching and inspiring the prevention of drunk driving to drivers of all ages, especially young drivers across the nation. We produce and provide free educational materials and real tools to prevent drunk driving.
People drink. It's legal and it's all around us. At DrinkingAndDriving.Org, we empower our visitors. We empower people to make the right decision and never drive drunk. We also inspire the attitude that drunk driving by those around us should be prevented when we see it about to happen! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - EIN #30-0492991.
Through our DrinkingAndDriving.Org website, we've created an effective environment to learn about and more importantly, learn how to prevent drunk driving. Students from every college, university, and school district use DrinkingAndDriving.Org as a reliable source for drunk driving prevention research. This letter we received from a high school student shows the impact our materials are having ...
Our DUI Avoidance Lesson Plan is a free resource that teaches drunk driving prevention. Thousands of young drivers from schools throughout the nation read the Plan each week. Over a thousand college, university and high school campuses send students to DrinkingAndDriving.Org each month to read The DUI Avoidance Lesson Plan.
Our National Directory of Designated Driver Services is saving lives. This drunk driving prevention tool is the most complete and accurate list of all the services across America that will take a person home in their own car if they've been drinking. This removes the #1 reason people have for not taking taxis home.
Colleges use our SoberDrivers Pledge and other materials during the annual National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and other responsibility-themed events.
We utilize social networks to spread the attitude that drunk driving should be unacceptable by anyone's standards. Followers of our tweets and Facebook postings get the latest updates to our website as well as eye-opening stories of drunk drivers and their enablers.
But our online efforts are just the beginning. We know that to be most effective, we need to approach potential drunk drivers through as many different avenues as possible.
To achieve this, DrinkingAndDriving.Org also attends live events, produces 'offline' educational materials, and offers public speaking. We've conducted DUI classes before hundreds of servicemen and women at 29 Palms Marine Base and other venues and have attracted attention at other group's events as well as our own.
Allen Porter, the president of DrinkingAndDriving.Org is available for speaking engagements in schools and clubs throughout Southern California. What is drunk driving prevention and how can your audience prevent drunk driving?
DrinkingAndDriving.Org strives to inspire all of us to prevent drunk driving when we see it about to happen instead of forcing police and victims to deal with the aftermath.
